About Maribel Perez
Maribel Pérez grew up in Querétaro, México, and came to the United States at the age of 17. She becomes part of the Bonsall High School team to teach Spanish. Ms. Perez promotes bilingual education and biliteracy through the development of the four domains of language acquisition: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Her teaching philosophy is “A person who speaks two languages is worth two”. She promotes social justice and equity among disadvantaged students, and celebrates the value of the Spanish language and world’s cultures. She motivates students to serve as agents of change to create a more equitable society, in which the Spanish language, and the people who speak it are respected.
